Where an alarm sounds regularly or continuously it can cause annoyance to neighbouring home owners and businesses. The Environmental Protection Team has produced advice for owners of the following types of alarms or those affected by their sounding:
Burglar Alarms - Advice on intruder alarms located on domestic and commercial properties. Recommendations for owners of properties with alarms. How to make a complaint to the Environmental Protection Team and the information we need to investigate the problem.
Car Alarms - Advice on car alarms located in the street or at a property. Recommendations for owners of cars with alarms. How to make a complaint to the Environmental Protection Team and the information we need to investigate the problem.
In order for an alarm to be effective, people nearby must react to its sounding. If an alarm sounds regularly people are less likely to immediately take notice.
