Dartford is full of great public spaces that can be used for events.
If you want to hold an event in one of those spaces, you need to apply to us first.
You can apply by emailing events@dartford.gov.uk with a summary of your plans. Our team will get back to you with further details.
There are some things you may want to consider:
- You'll need a licence if you wish to:
- Sell alcohol.
- Provide entertainment such as music (live or recorded), films, plays or sporting events.
- Food or drink after 11pm.
- All public events need Public Liability Insurance cover of at least £10million.
- You'll need to complete an Event Management Plan, a Medical Plan and a risk assessment if your event has more than 500 people, or involves risky activities.
- Our Events team will provide the templates for these plans after you contact us.
- Contact Kent County Council if you need to close a road or pathway.
- You're responsible for keeping the site clean and tidy after the event finishes.
- For events with less than 500 people you'll need a Temporary Events Notice.
- For events with more than 500 people you'll need a premises licence if the site or venue doesn't already have one.
- You need to apply for the licence after we've approved your event. How much the licence costs depends on the event.
More details on applying for events can be found on our licensing pages.
