Street Collections:
If you wish to make a collection or sale on behalf of a charitable cause in a street or public place then you require a street collection permit from us to do so. There is no fee charged for this service. We handle all licence applications for cash collection on streets.
You should apply for a "Street Collections" licence here, which will take you to the appropriate pages of the Gov.UK site.
You are required to keep records of any income and expenditure relating to your street collection using our returns form issued with the permit, submit to the Licensing section within one month of the collection date. Failure to comply with this requirement is an offence under section 5 of the Police, Factories (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1916 and may jeopardise any future requests for Street Collection Permits.
House to House Collections:
If you wish to make an appeal to the public, by visiting house to house, or business to business, for them to give money or other property eg: clothing; then you require a house-to-house collection permit from us to do so. There is no fee charged for this service.

Direct Debit Collections:
If you wish to collect fundraising via Direct Debit you will need to contact the Public Fundraising Association (PRFA) we do not grant permits for DD only collections, however if you wish to do this within the High Street you will need to contact the Licensing section on 01322 34 30 24 to check availability and to be booked in. We allow a maximum of two collection dates per charity per month. For DD collections going door to door, you should contact the Licensing section to give details of the date(s) and area(s) you propose, to ensure that there is no overlap of DD collectors within the Borough. You must adhere to any 'No Cold Calling' zones or signs that may be in place.
