A bus service, inspired by a Council Leaders determination to ensure local rural villages were not left without public transport, is to expand its route after a successful year of operation.
Dartford Leader Jeremy Kite worked with KCC and Go Coach to create Connect 1 in February 2023 as a service from Longfield via Bean to Bluewater. Using smaller buses to access trickier locations, it has now expanded its reach to Fleet Estate and Coombfield Drive. With significant populations of elderly people, lacking buses had left them isolated but with the new service, getting out and about shall be made easier.
The service was launched on the 2nd January 2024.
