Larger household extensions prior notification/neighbour notification scheme

Legislation changed in May 2019 in respect of the deadline by which all extensions allowed under the Neighbour Notification Scheme or Prior Notification for larger householder extensions can be built (Part 1 Class A of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015).  This change removed the requirement for all such extensions to be completed on or before May 30, 2019.  In addition the requirement for the developer to notify the Council of the completion of the development was removed.

If the prior notification process was already successfully completed and works had either not yet started or were unlikely to finish by this date, the change in legislation effectively allows the extension to be built with no time restriction.

As from August 2019, a fee of £96 has been required for Larger Household Extension applications.
