Website Help

We have tried to organise this website in a way that makes it easy for you to find what you are looking for. Links that open forms or go to another website generally open in a new window so it is important to; make sure your browser is not blocking pop-ups/new windows from opening.

Our website is optimised for use on smartphones and you can easily add an icon to you mobile's home screen to give you direct and instant access.

The site is organised into main subject areas. To make your way around the website, you click on a heading, you will be taken to the corresponding section and a further menu will provide details of where to find further related information.

You can always return to the Homepage by clicking on the Dartford Borough Council logo DBC logo

There are also other ways of finding the information you want.

The Search facility at the top-right of every page Search Icon

A-Z Icon or the A-Z keypad that exist on every page. You would just click on the letter "P" if you wanted to find information on Parking for example.

The Services tab is a really useful feature. If you hover over it a list of Main services will be offered to you. Service tab If you click on the tab a complete list of all services will be displayed in A-Z order. This will work wherever you are on the site.

Please also watch for Useful Pages and Relevant Documents which appear on the right -hand side of pages under the A-Z keypad. These will be relevant to to pages you are viewing.

If you can go to another section of the site via a link in the text, the text will be underlined and the mouse pointer will change to a hand. If you click with the mouse on this section of text it will take you to more information on that topic.

Don't worry if you go to the wrong page, if you click on Back on the Buttons bar in Internet Explorer, or View > Go to > Back. You can do this again and again, until you get back to where you want to be. You will also see a "breadcrumb trail" towards the top of the screen which shows the path that has been taken to get to where you are. eg: Breadcrumb trail

Anywhere your pointer looks like a hand rather than an arrow or it means you can click and go somewhere else on the site.
